To remove a red wine spill from carpet, it is best if you work fast. Grab your container of salt and cover the stain with a mound of salt.  The salt will soak up the spill. Let it sit until it is almost dry. Collect the excess salt with a spoon and discard. Vacuum the area to remove the remaining salt.  If there is still remnants of the stain, use a little hydrogen peroxide. Pour on to the stained area and dab it up.  Poor on a little cool water and then dab it until almost dry with a white terry cloth towel.
